Alldis & Cox was formed in 1888 by the then 20 year old J W Alldis, later to become Mayor of Waverley. The company grew on the strength of its management department and the successful Auction of residential subdivisions in the developing suburbs of Waverley, Coogee, Randwick and Clovelly.
In 1912 the company was acquired by Fred Cox, who continued the growth of the business throughout his stewardship. Intent on a family enterprise he encouraged his sons Alan, Jack and Geoffrey to join him. Alan’s son David continued the family tradition, owning and managing the business until his retirement in 2008. Today the company continues under the guidance of Stuart Cox, grandson of Alan.
